Phlebotomy Salary

The salary of a phlebotomist does vary depending on where you work, for example you can work in a hospital, university laboratory, clinics and many other locations. Each of these locations have a different salary, however the average is a respectable $20 per hour. Some top tier phlebotomist’s will receive $30 per hour or more but this shouldn’t be expected. The lowest salary you can expect to receive is around $13 per hour.

You may be able to negotiate a fixed annual salary which would be in the region of about $40,000 a year. This is based upon working 40 hours per week. The top tier earners can make up to $60,000 per year and the lower tier earners will make at lest $25,000.

There are a few states that will pay more for a Phlebotomist due to the fact they are high in demand. These states include Tennessee, Alaska, Hawaii and Minnesota. Phlebotomist salaries in these locations range from $50,000 to $60,000 and may even be higher. This is a great Phlebotomy salary to start on

The salary obviously isn’t the only perks you get as with most jobs you will get healthcare, sick pay, possible travel allowance, pension scheme and many other benefits.

Having better qualifications and being in the higher percentiles can help justify the fact you should receive a higher salary. Also working in highly populated cities and areas normally means you will receive a better payment package
